Hello! I am a PhD student at UW and did my MA at Appalachian State University. I just found out that I received enough grant money to make the trip to the ASA conference from Seattle. It's a bit late and it seems that several hotels/motels are fully booked. I am also trying to keep my travel costs down. I would love to share a room with another woman/women attending the conference. I do not mind sharing a bed. I am flying into Charleston and renting a car that I will have with me the whole time, so I would be happy to drive people to and from the university. I need a room the 27th, 28th, 29th, and 30th, and, of course, I am willing to split the cost of the room. Please let me know if you have space in your room and would like to share on any or all of the dates mentioned above! Thank you! -Rachel

I would be interested in rooming with you. I just learned about the conference, and so my plans are not yet definite, but in the next couple of days I should have a more clear idea of my logistics. I currently do not have a room and am also traveling on a budget from the DC area. Thanks, Rachel! jgeredien (at) gmail.com

I am considering traveling from NY and would arrive Thursday evening and return Saturday evening. The only flight that seems to work is an evening flight arriving at Charleston around 11:30pm, which is probably too late. I teach anthropology part-time at a community college here.

Hi Courtney,
Did you find someone to share a room? I am making a last minute decision about whether or not I will attend ASA this year. I am an independent scholar and can provide more info about me based on your update.

I have an extra bed for Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night. I am also driving up from the Charleston area sometime on Thursday. I am somewhat flexible with the details.
If anyone is still looking for a last-minute room, let me know. mcgee6@marshall.edu

Hi Rachel, I am a VT Grad Student and live in Blacksburg. I have a spare room in my house that we rent through AirBnB for event weekends and special events. Right now it is not booked for the conference weekend 3/9-12. I'm planning to attend the conference as well, although I may not be there until Friday. You are welcome to stay with me, if you still need a room. The house is on a quiet street about 4 miles from campus - but on a bad day that means it takes 15 minutes to get to Squires and park. Let me know if you are still in need and interested and we can work out details via phone. Kathryn Culbertson kgculby@vt.edu Hello!
